Position *

I agree that I am a contractor with Darkcity Security as a security system technician. In this position I will work at various locations assigned by Darkcity Security.

Duties and Responsibilities *

I agree that my responsibilities are varied and will depend on the site. In order to operate efficiently and with accountability, I am required to maintain a valid authorization to work in Canada and/or SIN #.

Effective date *

I agree the effective date is in full force as of the signing this contact.

Probationary Period *

I agree that my contract is subject to a probationary period of six months beginning on my start date of my full-time tenure. I also agree that full time will be offered to me by Darkcity Security only if the company finds the job is fit for me depending on my performance and evaluation. No other measurements will be taken to offer a promotion or full time position including the seniority.

Remuneration *

I acknowledge and agree that the contract rate shall be determined on a site-by-site basis or as otherwise mutually agreed upon between the parties. I further understand and agree that Darkcity Security will not withhold or remit any statutory deductions on my behalf, including but not limited to Federal Income Tax, Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions, and Employment Insurance (EI) premiums. Payments for services rendered will be made on a bi-weekly basis by e-transfer, direct deposit to the financial institution of my choice, or by cheque. I understand that I will be issued a T4A slip annually and that I am solely responsible for reporting my income and filing all required tax returns in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations. I acknowledge that no additional remuneration, benefits, vacation pay, overtime pay, or other compensation shall be provided unless otherwise expressly agreed to in writing.

Confidentiality *

I agree that I will not disclose the private and confidential affairs of Darkcity security and will not use for my own purposes or for those of any other person any information which I acquire about the business and affairs of Darkcity security or about its management and methods of operations. I will not divulge Darkcity operations knowledge (sites, procedures, restricted info, etc), soliciting security services and arranging services to existing Darkcity clients, persuading clients to terminate existing contracts for my own personal arrangement, engaging in subcontracts, mismanagement of trust (hours reported, adjusting hours, theft of property etc), and working against the best interests of Darkcity Security and its operations. I agree to abide by the rules set forth in the policy at time of hire and will not solicit any current client of Darkcity Security for a period of 10 years.

Termination *

I agree that as per company policy, I need to give a minimum of four weeks' notice prior to my intended departure date. This notice period allows Darkcity Security to effectively manage workloads, redistribute responsibilities, and find suitable replacements if necessary. It also ensures that Darkcity Security can properly wrap up any ongoing projects and ensure a seamless handover to the next person in the role. It's important to note that failure to provide the required notice may result in not receiving my final payment.

Law of the Contract *

Given the nature of the operations of Darkcity Security I understand that I may from time to time be temporarily laid off. As well, I understand that Darkcity Security may terminate my contract without further notice or severance if it has just and sufficient cause to do so. Darkcity Security may also terminate my contract without just and sufficient cause by providing me with a one-time lump-sum gross amount of one (1) week of my payment. Upon complying with these obligations, I acknowledge that Darkcity Security will have satisfied all obligations owed to me.

I agree that anytime I need to book off a shift, I must notify our dispatch via WhatsApp minimum 24 hours before the shift and must wait for the confirmation and approval. Sick note/other documentation may be required by Darkcity security, and I must comply with the documentation required.

I agree that I must keep the memo book up to date and return the memo book to the office when its finished to get a new one and/or requested by Darkcity security

I agree that I must submit the shift/daily/incident reports (as required by the sites) by using Darkcity app and as well a copy to be sent to Darkcity security’s dispatch WhatsApp before the shifts end.

I agree that I must put the name tag on uniform while working. Darkcity will not be responsible for and pay for any ticket issued by the ministry and/or parking ticket and/or any tickets that is assigned to me individually by an authority.

I agree that anytime I forget/late to sign in/out using the assigned method. I agree that I will not get paid for that shift. Darkcity will not go back to the system to fix the mistake. It is solely my responsibility to book on/off on time.

I agree that Darkcity app is built in with GPS technology and agree to share my location with Darkcity Security while I am on shift. That means I will be able to sign in and out ONLY when I am at the site.

Darkcity Security does not provide shoes. You must have your own black dress shoes/black boots depending on the site. I understand and agree getting shoes are solely my responsibility depending on the site I will be working at. I agree I will keep my uniform clean and in a presentable way while on duty.

Uniform Deduct *

I hereby also accept the underwritten products, to be used to perform my duties and Darkcity Security will charge CAD $500 (every pay cheque $50 until paid). I authorize the company to deduct CAD $500.00 from my pay or I will pay the same in full. In case, if I leave the company before the uniform money has been collected from me, I authorize the company to deduct from my last pay in full or I provide the authority to Darkcity Security to collect the payment with any means. (Though, the logbooks must be submitted in original (used/unused) to the supervisor under any circumstances.).
